Which versions of Exchange does Mailscape™ support?
Mailscape™ Mailscape™ currently supports all versions of Exchange 2000, 2003, and 2007.
How is Mailscape™ licensed?
Mailscape™ is licensed for all front end and back end Exchange servers in your environment. You may also choose to extend Mailscape to other vital components in your messaging environment—Domain Controllers, Relay Servers, BlackBerry Enterprise Servers, etc.
What is the best way to utilize Mailscape™?
You will receive the greatest benefit from Mailscape™ if you deploy it
in the following manner: The Mailscape™ One Look monitoring system was
designed to be displayed in area that Exchange Administrators can easily view.
We recommend that you dedicate a monitor/flat panel for the monitoring console,
configured at 1024 X 1028 resolution. Install the Mailscape agent on each Exchange
server, then simply use any web server in your organization to publish the Mailscape
user interface. For security purposes, only Exchange administrators you define
will be able to access this site.
Will Mailscape™ work across a WAN?
Yes. Mailscape™ was built from the ground up with performance in mind. All monitored components can be individually configured and adjusted based on your network’s needs and requirements.

No. Mailscape™ was built from the ground up with performance in mind. All monitored components can be individually configured and adjusted based on your network’s needs and requirements. The out-of-the-box, default configuration will not cause any undue network traffic.
Does Mailscape™ require Microsoft SQL?
No. Mailscape™ uses an embedded database to simplify installation and to reduce the implementation complexities and license costs associated with SQL.
Why was Mailscape™ created?
Mailscape™ was created by Exchange Administrators for Exchange Administrators. The job of managing messaging is not an easy one. Microsoft’s best practices guidelines lists a great many monitoring, administrative and maintenance tasks that must be performed daily. These tasks are time consuming but necessary to ensure the messaging system stays up and running. Mailscape™ was created to enable Administrators complete these tasks efficiently and proactively.
