We would suggest taking a look at the HUB server to make sure that the Microsoft Exchange Transport service is running. You can also use ExTRA (http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/08/07/428616.aspx)
or ExRCA (https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/) to validate your mail configuration and mail flow.

We would suggest reviewing the domain test account username and password. Please also make exceptions to the internal and external firewalls to allow round trip delivery of mail from Exchange>GMAIL>Exchange.

To validate the MAPI test against Exchange 2007, please follow the instructions ofhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123681(EXCHG.80).aspx
Review the details of the alert message to determine the specific error.
Review the Application log on the Mailbox server for related events. For example, events that occur immediately before and after this event may provide more information about the cause of this error.
Ensure that the other required Exchange 2007 services are running. Review the Mailbox Servers Active Alerts view to determine if there are alerts related to stopped services on the Mailbox server.
Log on to the Mailbox server and run the Test-MapiConnectivity cmdlet manually.
